Drafted by the Boston Patriots in 1963, he signed with the Cardinals as a free agent.
He played split end for the Cardinals from 1963-67, with most of his starts coming in '64 and '67. For years he played behind Bobby Joe Conrad and Sonny Randle, finally breaking into the starting lineup in 1967, after Randle's trade to the 49ers.
In 1968, he was the Lions' starting flanker, starting 11 of his 14 games. That was his final season.
